My approach to illustration is born out of a love of photography and a desire to capture the people around me. I started my process of using pro-marker pen on paper to translate my favourite photos of family, friends and surroundings during the beginning of lockdown 2020. I soon began to take on personal commissions. During lockdown 2021 I was invited by homeless charity, Centrepoint UK, to host a masterclass in illustrative portraiture, encouraging young adults in isolation to turn to drawing as a reflective process.
I have more recently been commissioned to illustrate written narratives. My current commissions and ongoing projects include Young Adult Novel: The Watcher And The Friend and a collection of short stories: Dissolution.
I was recently invited to give a panel talk at Shaftsbury Fringe Festival about the process of my collaboration with writer Elizabeth Woodgate and small press printer Tom Roberts, followed by a Q&A and book signing.
